Shaped Plastic Button
Toyota 4Runner driver’s door won’t open from outside?
My ‘94 4Runner suddenly stopped allowing me to open the driver’s door from the outside. I can lock and unlock it from both the key and inside button. I can also release the latch and open the door from the inside. When I (half) removed the door panel, I found a metal bar (sorta the shape of a double ‘L’) just dangling from one end. I’m guessing this is the culprit, but can’t find a diagram or figure out where it should connect. Help? (P.S. Someone told me that there is a plastic piece inside that breaks sometimes…)

Look here for parts if you need a replacement, they are usually cheaper than local dealers (at least the ones by me) to make enough of a difference in price to make ordering worthwhile.
