Sewing With Elastic Bobbin

Sewing Machine thread tangles/breaks?
every now and then, it get’s that struggling, hard, pounding sound. (not quite sure how to describe it) and then It gets stuck .. with a nest of thread pulling my fabric deep down into the plate. :’( And even after I adjusted my bobbin tension, I tested on a scrap piece of fabric .. the zig zag stitches came out beautifully .. but when I go back to sewing on elastic .. I get a tangled mess every time! *sigh* this is really frustrating me.
A*N*D*.. My thread keeps breaking at the top too! I know why .. The thread on the spool stick keeps getting tangled around it! BUT I don’t know WHY that’s happening .. =/
help greatly appreciated!!
When the thread pools around the pin, this can be controlled with a thread sock – a tube of netting sold with machine embroidery supplies.
Re-thread the machine with the presser foot up and this will ensure the tension control feature of the machine has captured the top thread.
If you are stretching the elastic as you sew have the needle down into the elastic, then stretch, holding the elastic and fabric in back of the presser foot as well as the front taut and then stitch.
Repeat the process until finished.
Do a test run on scraps.
