what kind of thread to use, in a car seat cover?

I am trying to make a seat cover for my car. I already have the fabric but IDK about what kind of thread to use. I know it must be heavy duty and hopefully UV protected.
I will be making the covers with a regular sewing home machine. so basically what is the strongest and thickest thread I can use. can I get it a Jo Ann fabrics? if not please include a link or name in your answer.

Your going to want to use nylon thread, I would go to a fabric store or upolstry shop to buy it. Be sure to go slow when sewing if you go to fast it will heat up the needle and melt your thread. As you come to the end of a seam make sure to back stich this will lock the seam and will help to make sure the seam does not separate. Never mind what any body says about your project after all it is yours. I got my start several years ago just by recovering things Good luck!
