Sewing Patterns For Girls Party Dresses
need help with making princess costume!!?
my cousin (26) is a big girl, (mainly around the waist, her legs are normal as well as her butt, it does not stick out all crazy) she wants to be a princess for her halloween/b-day party. we have unsuccessfully searched thrift store after thrift store for a dress we can turn into a princess dress, soo now we are resorting to make one!! we need it to be a size 22 she wants it very poofy and flowy at the waist down, anyway does anyone know where to find free printable pattens or know how to make one, or any ideas??? we already looked at patterns and cant find any.. we need to know how much fabric and how to sew it together!! anything will help.. thnx!! 
not sure of any site to go to but you can pick up a plain skirt that is long probably in pink that fits her at a thirt store (just the skirt not a whole dress). Then go to hobby lobby or walmart and pick up tulle in pink (or white and buy a bottle of fabric dye in pink and follow the directions to dye it). You could also pick up some satin type material if you can sew fairly good. Then use the skirt as a first layer and follow the seams on the skirt to help you create a second layer with the satin (if the skirt is floor length then it is even better). Make the satin layer app 1/3 too big. sew it and attach to the top of the skirt with 1/2 inch seam and puckered so the material is even. Then hem the bottom edge, or you could carefully fill and create a puffy skirt with some tissue paper and then doing a running stitch around the bottom to hold the paper in. Then take the tulle (looks like netting stuff like a viel would be made from) and check out cinderella and create fluffy decorations around the skirt. As for the top, buy a pink tank or short sleeve top and tuck into skirt and then use the tulle and some pink flowers to create a belt. Add a tiara and there you go.
