Sewing Pattern Book
Where can I find sewing patterns for clothes that are current? Like something I can wear to parties/clubs.?
I’m a beginner so I don’t know how to come up with the patterns yet but I need things that look better then the books you see in sewing stores.
Take some pictures from magazines or catalogs of clothes that you like and go back to the fabric store. If you really look at the different pieces, you will find that the patterns are similar, just not made up in the type of fabrics you would use for clubbing. Also, trims, buttons, and changes of sleeves, necklines, and hem lengths of the basic fabric store patterns can change them into anything you could possibly want. Visualize a “boring” pattern made in hot fabric, with snazzy buttons and a shorter skirt. Sewing is two parts inspiration and three parts work. The previous writer is correct; learn to sew first, with the commercial patterns, then start changing the patterns to suit you. It is great fun!
