Sewing How To Enlarge A Pattern

sewing how to enlarge a pattern
How do you go about making a sewing pattern on grid paper?

I have just purchased a book with which to make handbags. Most of the patterns involved require you to utilize (make) a 2″ grid on plain paper, then using the exact number of 2″ squares as shown in the book, you’re suppose to transfer (enlarge) the pattern onto the grid and come up with the exact size pattern that the handbag is suppose to become.

I’ve tried this method and IT’S NOT WORKING FOR ME. Does anyone have an alternative (SIMPLER) way of doing this? I sure could use the help.

not sure if this will help but there is free software called Wildthings available at
www.wildginger.com
for printing out patterns for hats, bags etc. of all shapes and sizes
