How to sew this (or any) bodice?

Hello :) I am working on a sewing project to make this dress as a costume…

Tiana's Showboat Jubilee

~Princess Tiana's Showboat Jubilee~

I just got a dress form and have matched it to my size and all that. But I have absolutely no patters for this dress. I can handle the skirt, but I can’t really nail the top. I’ve tried experimenting with it on the dress form, but around the bust and the hips, it bunches up. I don’t know how to do the seams. I don’t know how to do much anything haha. So any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much :)

I’d suggest getting a pattern for a dress with a fitted bodice like this — even with the dropped waist, if you can find one — and studying it well. Simplicity sells patterns for special occasion dresses (like bridal and prom and such) and for costumes, in addition to their street wear patterns. In the special occasion or costumne sections, you should be able to find something like this. Even their complicated patterns are explained very clearly. I would highly recommend checking their website and then purchasing a pattern. Once you see how it works (shaping, darts, tucks, etc) you can make yours in any color combos you like.
