Bernina makes an industrial machine, model 950. Unlike most industrial machines, it has about 18 stitches and also does button holes. I think your thousand dollar price range may be a bit low. Industrial machines are sold “naked” and you need to acquire a table and a motor to make the thing whole. Our dealership does the table and assembly work for most customers. You can expect a machine sufficiently durable that it will pass on to the next generation.
