Pattern For Sewing Baby Blankets
Question about knitting a blanket?
Okay, so I have knitted a few smaller-ish blankets. And I have had a hard time with the cable circular needles. With me, the blanket gets heavy and makes it hard to work with and I can never do more than a small (almost baby size) blanket. So my question is if I knit several (well a lot) of small patches and them sew them together, in like a patchwork quilt pattern would that look okay? Has anyone ever tried one like that and did it come out decent? I’d hate to waste all that yarn for it to turn out horrible. Thanks for any feedback!
I think that would look great – I think it’s common for large blankets to be knitted in long sections then seamed together anyhow. I’ve also seen some adorable “scrap” blankets where each square was a totally different yarn left over from many past projects – as long as all the squares add up (i.e. they are all 6″ by 6″ regardless of their actual gauge).
