No Sew Tutu
tutu tutorial help…?
my friends and i go to this youth group type thing (only it’s about 10 times more fun than any youth group you’ll ever go to. 
)
we have two “traditions”- one is muffins (mm, muffins) and the other is wearing tutus to this youth group thingy. so you’ve probably guessed already that i want to make a tutu.
so. there are tons of tutu tutorials. i know this because i have seen about every one currently on the web 
thank you, google!
but i haven’t been able to find out how much tulle you need. i’m planning on using the no-sew method, but if anyone has a good method using a sewing machine i’d be glad to hear it. my waist measurement is about 35.
so basically, does anyone know how much tulle i would need for this?

If I wanted to make a tutu, I would measure out enough to wrap around myself 3-4 times, and then triple it to make the gathers nice and bunchy. So, you start out with about a yard (36″), four times, then triple it. 4 yards x 3 – 12 yards. And that depends on how long you want it. Do you want it only about two feet, or three or four? Depending on the width of the tulle, you may only need half or 1/3 that length if you fold and cut it.
