Brother Sewing Thread
Brother sewing maching…thread staying on the top?
I hope I can explain this right. I have a Brother sewing machine that I am trying to learn to sew on, I have it all together the needle threaded ready to go and when I get going on the sewing the spool of thread goes flying. There are two places for thread to go on the top and it does not stay on either one. The one the pic shows that it should be on has a very short arm for me to stick my spool on. Any tricks? What am I missing? HELP!!

I tried the first person’s advice, even w/pliers the rod did not extend. Could there be an attachment to make it longer?
Did it come with a little felt disc? If not, poke a hole in a tiny piece of felt or wool and put that over the spindle to rest the spool on.
Pull up on the short spindle. It might telescope out and become taller? If not, it must be for winding bobbins only.
Also, study your threading diagram to make sure you don’t miss any slots.
To the person who posted after me: do you mean a little plastic cap to go on top? Not to be confused with the tiny felt disc that would go on first and rest underneath.
My Pfaff has the cap but I didn’t know Brother had one too.
